Climbing (or not...) @ Dunglass
Tuesday 17th August 2010

Weather/Conditions: Warm sunny day, but we got there at sunset which was absolutely no help
Accompanying:
Steve

Me and Steve turned up here ready to try a bit of climbing on this sport crag I'd already visited twice. We parked in Strathblane and walked in, which wasted time we could have spent climbing. But we got on the easiest sport climb here armed with quickdraws. But we weren't used to the outdoor environment and it didn't work out. I would have to climb more aggressively than this to get anywhere and when in doubt I'd hang back rather than risk a fall. When I arrived at a hold it would be a case of clip quickdraw to bolt, then rope to quickdraw. That took time my weakening fingers didn't have.

A guy that was also there arranged a top-rope for us but that didn't work out. A bit rubbish really...

With one or two half-climbs under our belts each, it got dark and we had to leave. Well, maybe one day I'll see some success here...
