I cover three trips to Craigmore with Dave here, all taking place at various dates in August 2010.

This was my and Dave's first time out here - first of many. We didn't own a guidebook to the crag so set a top-rope up on a suitable tree and went for it. As I remember, we tried Craigmore Corner (HVS?) and Tom and Jerry Wall (HVS) with minor success. Rampage (VS) was too far to the right for the rope but I think Dave did that one. The images show me abseiling down Craigmore corner, which for a first time felt a bit hairy, but fun once I was over the edge!

The second time we came to Craigmore, I think this was the time it became midge-hell. We belayed off a new tree and in the process climbed the face left of the short groove. I think the groove is V.Diff and our climb started off a large boulder. Limited success today - we gave into the midges! This was the last day Dave criticised my hate-campaign. (And about the climb name: I'd know it if I checked the guidebook, which is in Dave's house...)

And for some success this time! We belayed off the big oak trees roots, allowing us to work on Rampage and Tom and Jerry Wall (although we didn't know these names at the time). We definitely did Rampage and I'm sure this was the time I finally got up Tom and Jerry Wall, although I didn't fallow the wall itself, cutting off onto the arête a bit too soon, making the climb easier than it is. It's worth getting a sunny, airy day at Craigmore like we had. Good climbing was had. Additionally - I'm not sure which day it was, just there was a lot of bouldering exploration and probably more than one solo up the old Kit Kat, from both of us. Dink also mastered the bottom block left-hand variation and dragged me up through all that moss! (not sure if it was this day though! I should have kept better records...!)
