I cover three trips to
Craigmore with Dave here, all taking place at various dates in August
2010. This was my and Dave's
first time out here - first of many. We didn't own a guidebook to the
crag so set a top-rope up on a suitable tree and went for it. As I
remember, we tried Craigmore Corner (HVS?) and Tom and Jerry Wall (HVS)
with minor success. Rampage (VS) was too far to the right for the rope
but I think Dave did that one. The images show me abseiling down
Craigmore corner, which for a first time felt a bit hairy, but fun once
I was over the edge! 22nd August The second time we came
to Craigmore, I think this was the time it became midge-hell. We belayed
off a new tree and in the process climbed the face left of the short
groove. I think the groove is V.Diff and our climb started off a large
boulder. Limited success today - we gave into the midges! This was the
last day Dave criticised my hate-campaign. (And about the climb name:
I'd know it if I checked the guidebook, which is in Dave's house...) 29th August |
