Climbing @ Auchinstarry Quarry, Kilsyth
Friday 2nd April 2010

Weather/Conditions: Cool spring day, of fairly good weather and dry rock.
Accompanying:
Ian

This day was a wee while ago, but I'll include the details I can remember. I had nothing planned this day so I called Ian who was free. We were split between rock climbing and doing a hill. So my suggestion was this: go to Auchinstarry in the afternoon and climb Dumgoyne at night.

We just went up the Access Route (nothing special you see) and went over the bouldering wall. It was a bit manky but I really enjoyed Finger Flakes, a few metres of nice holds and a bit of fun getting out the top. The weather was fair but we didn't do much! After this we drove to Strathblane to climb Dumgoyne. It turned into a great adventure with snow on the hills, my falling through a snow bridge and high winds, snow and darkness at the top. Very exhilarating and to be honest a lot better than Auchinstarry. Visit the Dumgoyne report.
