Weather/Conditions: Thawing generally, and about 0 degrees on top. Lots of snowmelt! The forecast was phenomenal, but a SE wind was sending cloud over the summits, which for a period on descent cleared. Nevermind! Still some good vistas of Rannoch Moor.

An enjoyable day out on Meall a' Bhuiridh, that hill that holds the Glen Coe ski centre. Dave, Jonathan (and Clyde) and I headed north on a stunning forecast. But oddly things didn't quite turn out that way. Banks of cloud were rolling in from the east, obscuring the summits, though the actual weather was quite benign as forecast. We followed a route up through the ski centre, returning broadly the way we came, but getting caught up among crags on the way down (which, looking back are just about the only crags on the north flank of the mountain)



On the descent, the cloud finally pulled back to reveal Glen Coe, the Mamores and Nevis all bathed in afternoon sun. To have cloud wasn't quite what we'd expected, or hoped for, but this was good consolation. I looked to the hills of the north and east, well aware that even though we'd head back to Glasgow this evening, I was up early the next morning for a few days walking in the lands of Drumochter, Monadhliath and the Cairngorms.
