Creag Dhubh - 848m
Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th October 2014

Weather/Conditions: Overcast, windy and generally dry. Sun breaking out on the second morning.
Distance/Ascent/Time: 21.1km / 1200m / 2 days (6h / 4h 45m)
Accompanying: ML Group

A crossing of the outer Cairngorms on ML training. Dropped off at the road, then walked into Drake's. A quick stop here then straight out the back and onto rough and hard ground above on the hill. Little evidence of any path as marked! Terrain eased off in thickness and winds picked up for some nav legs over the shoulder of Creag Dhubh. To the summit, then on to shelter behind Clach Mhic Cailein. We then dropped into Gleann Eanaich where it all got rather stunning. Easy walking through the heather, to cross a metal bridge, then a campsite in the heather by a burn.

The next morning we packed up, got moving and moved east over the low hills to cross the Lairig Ghru. Then an easy finish through the Chalamain Gap and down the path to the Sugarbowl where a pick up was waiting.
